Prime Minister Award for Teacher Excellence

Ann Marie is a passionate advocate for the arts and a dynamic leader dedicated to giving Black students a voice and opportunities in an increasingly diverse suburban school. She has transformed the student experience by fostering a school culture where every student feels connected and valued. Ann Marie’s leadership has also empowered the teaching staff to create an inclusive environment that supports the success of all students.

Walk Till Justice

Nearly 900 students and staff attended a special screening organized by teacher Ann Marie Vanneste, aimed at educating and sparking conversations about anti-Black racism. The day included a "Walk Till Justice" march, where students united to show support for Black students in the community, helping them feel seen and heard.

Black Student Association Provincial Networking Summit

On October 21-October 22, 2024 Ann Marie Vanneste along with Ben Smith collaborated creating the first ever BSA Provincial Summit. Both Ann Marie and Ben were 2023 National Recipients of the Prime Minister's Awards for Teaching Excellence. 

All Saints High School travelled to Chinguacousy Secondary School in Brampton for this networking event. Next year All Saints will host the Summit. This event celebrating Black Joy and Excellence was ground breaking bringing students from across the province together.

Coaching Career

Ann Marie a former Canadian hurdler and scholarship athlete to Louisiana State University (LSU) has been giving back to sport for over 25 years. She has been coaching track and field particularly the sprints, hurdles and relay with All Saints as well as doing speed and conditioning for several years with her community football teams. Her vast knowledge and skill is sought after and being a coach is where she finds true joy.
